In the words of an ex-trainee . . .

This is an extract from an email that one of our former Secondary trainees sent us, to let us know how he was getting on as a Newly Qualified Teacher:

“The high expectations you have instilled into me are still present and I try to make sure everybody else keeps up to the same high expectations.”

“My confidence has really grown and whilst behaviour can be tough to handle and days can be long and hard – I’m still reminded that I can become a really good teacher.”

“I compare my training with trainees who go through the university route and I can safely assure you DRAFTTS* sounds a lot better and a lot more useful. I walked out of that knowing that I was given the tools to begin teaching and have since flourished. A lot of other NQTs don’t feel the same when starting.”

That’s why he applied for schools-based ITT in Doncaster!

Why do you want to be a teacher?

Over 80% of all applicants say that the reason they want to be a teacher is because they “enjoy working with children and young people”

They also “want to make a difference” and have “variety” where “every day is different”.

Most were “inspired by a teacher(s) at school”

Almost all because they love my subject” and they want to “have fun!”

Is this you?

Yes?

. . .  then go to the UCAS website, search for ‘Doncaster’ and look forward to enjoying working in a profession that really does make a difference.

Hotmail? University email?

If you have a Hotmail or a similar web-based email account, please note that we would ask you to set our email (ittpartnership@doncaster.gov.uk) to a ‘trusted’ or ‘secure’ email address to avoid emails from us being pushed into your ‘trash’ or ‘junk’ mail folder.

This often happens when we send out ‘bulk’ emails to large numbers of applicants, especially if we’ve included an attachment, as understandably we can’t always send out individual emails to each applicant.

Every year applicants with Hotmail and similar accounts fail to receive important emails from us because of their email settings.

Also if you’re using a University email, please remember that we may not be able to contact you once you’ve left Uni and the email closes, so preferably please use a ‘home’ email – and let us know if you change your email provider.

So to make sure that we can contact you and send you the latest information, please make sure that your application has your correct email address and then check that your email settings will receive emails from the Doncaster ITT Partnership.

Good luck with your applications!
